Hierarchical Clustering

• Also called agglomerative hierarchical clustering

• Constructs a tree structure

• Dendogram

• Close examples are lower down the tree

• Each cluster is treated as a single entity

• All clusters are grouped into a super-cluster

• Widely used in bioinformatics
